FJ TOTW MATCHDAY 39

Barbarians and Fussa both had chance of promotion before the Christmas break. Since then both teams form has been indifferent.  They met on a lovely Saturday afternoon at YC&AC.  The game was mainly one way traffic with Barbarians dominating the play and scored a couple of early goals. Due to the hot conditions it was time for both teams to have a mid game water break. This seemed to help Barbarians more as they scored 3 more to complete a 5-1 victory.

FJ TOTW MATCHDAY 38

It was Super Saturday last weekend for the Top 3 in Division 2. Suns FC, Musketeers & Lions FC all had hopes of not only promotion but also winning the division.  I was hoping for back to back matches involving all the 3 teams on Saturday afternoon but I was requested to move the Lions fixture till later in the day due to religious reasons.

Who said ‘those who can’t, teach’? British Football Academy coaches prove this wrong!

Saturday saw us hold the 4th edition of our Charity Football Day. It’s always a logistical challenge holding two completely different tournaments within the space of 8 hours.  This year we were raising money for 2 Charities. We welcomed TRACOS this year who help teach disabled children and Adults the beautiful Game. We also continued our long tradition of raising money for Refugees International Japan

The final part of our Cup Final countdown concentrates on a forward who without his goals, his teams may not have reached this far. Takuma ueyama scored an impressive 5 goals v Swiss Kickers in the Plate Semi Final. He will be looking to do the same v Sala FC this Saturday evening.

I went to watch the Plate Semi Final between Sala FC and Imperio FA! One of the first things I saw was a Sala player struggling to find one of his green shinpads seconds before kick off. Luckily it was found. The shin pad belonged to Shu Nakatani. A name I often saw on the referees reports for the goals he scored. He didn't disapoint by scoring a hat trick on the night. Let's get to know Shu a little more before he plays in his first FJ Plate Final this weekend.
