The last game of 2018 for both Kanto Celts defeat Lions FC 4-0 in the TML's top division.
4 weeks later and both teams were playing each other again in the FJ Cup. Lions new manager Omer had recruited some new players and they were very much the difference.
Two of the 4 mew recruits scored. Seiji Muto scored an impressive hat trick and Yokota scored a goal too. Lions regular Kenji Isoda scored a brace and Shiotsuki completed the scoring.
Rarely has a year brought so much uncertainty. Brexit, a change of TML leadership and who knows what the new era will be called or be like in Japan? So many questions, yet so few answers. We can only go on what we know, so what do we know so far?
We know that Tenshin Nasukawa is not as good at boxing as Floyd Mayweather and also that BFC Tokyo and King George have won some silverware.
Saturday saw the first Footy Japan 7s tournament kick off at YC&AC. 10 teams played in 2 groups all battling to progress and avoid the wooden spoon of a 5th placed finish.
Many of my Robert Walters TOTW write ups have had me talking about how open Division 1 is this season. This can also be said for Division 2 & 3.
The weekend saw the top 4 in Division 2 all win. 3 points separate them all. Suns FC narrowly missed out on promotion last season and are aiming to go the extra mile to make sure they claim a top 2 finish this season.
On Saturday they faced Fussa FC at YC&AC. Suns were on the front foot throughout the first half and found themselves 3-1 up at half time.
This week's Robert Walters team of the week goes to Nepal United after coming out on top of a slugfest. It is always difficult playing against the Albion Old Boys at the St. Marys Pitch as it is there home turf, accustomed to the shorter than usual pitch. Nepal United was seemingly in charge of the game with a 4-0 lead until the Albion Old Boys came back with 4 goals of their own. Nepal United finished second to last place in Season 15 but this years Nepal United are different.

Every time a Division 1 team wins the Robert Walters TOTW award I always seem to talk about how open the league is. This weekend was no different and this report will go along these usual lines.....Division 1 is wide open.
Pumas defeated Celts 7-1 which was impressive, Swiss finally got a team together and defeated Zion 5-2, FCI continued their good form but this weeks TOTW award goes to Panthers FC.
