Hachioji Park had the privilege of hosting the top teams in Division 2 & 3. After Dutch FC had brushed aside KGFC in the early kick off it was time for Suns FC to continue their promotion charge.
In my 10 years involved in playing and running this wonderful league only Shane FC & Clash have failed to gain promotion from the leagues lowest division.
My first TML season I was a proud Shane FC player. I was wowed by their Plate victory in 2006/07 season. Ever since it's been years of near promotions or mid table mediocrity.
Saturday afternoon saw 2 of the form Division 1 teams battle it out. Kanto Celts had only lost 1 match since the turn of the year. Pumas had not lost since early December so this was always going to be a great match up.
One of the most surprising results of the season came from a late kick off at Fukuda Denshi. FC International were looking to close the gap at the top of the table. On the other hand Zion FC were looking for a much needed victory to boost their survival hopes.
As I write this report, the sun is out, the trees are blossoming and the long winter that my team has endured seems a life time ago. That's because King George finally won a game!
When a team is in a poor run of form it's sometimes difficult to know where the next victory is coming from. Just ask West Brom, Arsenal and even King George. Before the weekend BFC Vagabonds were among this not-so-elite group of teams.
