Having won 9 Division 1 titles since TML's inception in 2002, Tokyo Hibernian are not use to losing. After their opening 3 matches they had only collected 1 point. Was the club in crisis?
Crises what crises? It was business as usual on Saturday evening as they faced Lions FC. Hibs scored 2 early goals. Lions FC battled to try and back in the game. Hibs held firm and the Lions ran out of energy and conceded 4 goals in the last 15 minutes. Debutante Yaysuya Kamijima...
What a weekend for Clash FC. 3 games, 3 victories, 14 goals scored and 3 conceded.
The weekend started with Clash defeating Celts Legends 6-0 in their opening FJ Masters 7s League match. Next up they knocked 5 past Morooka Yatagarasu. The 2 results puts them sitting on top of the league.
Sunday evening saw the Clash young guns kitted out in their lovely new...
Before we start let me say how great it is to have Robert Walters as a supporter of FJ Competitions TOTW for the remainder of the year.
The battle for TML's top prize is as open as it's ever been. Hibernian FC have dominated the famous Division 1 trophy for the last 3 seasons but after a slow start all teams are starting to dream. No more so than Kanto Celts. After 2 solid performances v Hibs and Panthers they came up against early division leaders BFC Tokyo....
BEFC have been on a footballing roller coaster over the last 2 seasons. The highs of a near perfect season in TML14 which saw win Division 2 and gain promotion. Last season was a tough one which resulted in relegation.
Last Saturday saw them take on Fussa FC and beat them 4-1. Their first 3 points of the season and are worthy winners of this weeks FJTOTW.
As BEFC write up match reports on their site I am handing this over to them:
It's always interesting to see how promoted teams get on in a higher division. Currently of the 5 teams who gained promotion throughout the TML, one team, Dutch FC seemed to have adapted to life the quickest.
On the opening weekend of the season they beat Jetro 3-0 and they carried on their good form late on Sunday evening. This time they were up against Sala FC who scored in the first half. 10 minutes into the second half the game flow changed as Dutch scored 2...
TML16 saw 3 new teams join the league. This weekend saw Bruno FC claiming their first victory, Eastern Capital beat Clash on their debut match a few weeks back. K2 Tokyo Expendables have gone one better by taking all 6 points avaliable.
K2 recruited well in the Summer. They have brought people out of TML retirement and also signed payers from all TML divisions.
They were up against Clash FC who were looking for their first win of the season. Dan...
Since gaining promotion to Division 1 in TML14 Pumas FC have been building something special. FJ Plate winners in the same season, FJ Cup winners in TML15 and Division 1 Champions in TML16? We will have to wait and see if they can continue their good form which helped them overcome last years Champions Hibs on Saturday evening.
The Pumas are a young team. What comes with youth is energy and pace. This certainly helped them to defeat the experienced Hibs...
Last season saw Nepal Utd and King George battle it out to see which team would finish bottom of Division 3. Nepal beat the already promoted Shane FC 3-2 in their last game to claim the all important 9th spot.
Two and a half months later they kicked off TML16 looking at improving on their 9th finish last season and they did so in style.
They played some lovely neat short passes throughout the game on Saturday verses BEFC Lions. The Lions were...
