Heavy rain all week leading up to the biggest TML weekend of the season, 11 matches scheduled, Hachioji Park covered in puddles, one stressed out guy managing it all and amzingly all matches were played. 56 goals were scored, 5 of which were scored by this weeks FJ Team of the Week: Sala FC.
A much changed Sala FC team turned up at a wet Fukuda Denshi looking to gain their first Division 1 victory for a few years. Braces from the midfield dynamo Shu Nakatani and...
Last season saw Kanto Celts take 4th spot ahead of Panthers FC by a goal difference of +2. Saturday the capacity crowd at Hachioji Park got to see how both teams had improved their squad over the Summer months. It was time for Panthers FC to parade their new Summer signing Nicolai Jessen-Peterson, the most prolific forward to come from Denmark since Brian Laudrup and Mikkel Beck. Kanto Celts are still coming to terms with former Captain Andrew McGoverns late last minute...
After the disappointment of failing to gain promotion last season British Embassy FC were out to lay down a marker in their opening TML match of the season. They certainly did that with a 8-1 victory over Suns FC. A hat trick from Kentaro Takahashi and a brace from James Pounder helped the Embassy claim this weeks FJ TOTW title. Congratulations to everyone associated with the British Embassy Football Club.

As the final whistle blew on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Hodogaya, Zion FC became the first team to record back to back victories this season. They may be the only team to have played 2 matches but consecutive victories is not an easy thing to do in TML's middle division.
Two goals from Yusuke Toda and goals each from Takeishi Yoshikatsu and Yusuke...
With only 2 matches played last weekend It was between Zion FC and Real Celts for having the honor of receiving the last FJ TOTW award of the season. As they scored 6 goals and one more than the Celts, Zion FC have won it. With 3 goals in the first half from Kohei Shiozaki, Yuki Kadowaki and Yusuke Kawano, there was no coming back for Dutch FC. Another 3 goals late in the 2nd half made it an enjoyable evenings work for the men in green. Well done Zion FC.
The final battle for some TML silverware saw Jetro face Division 3 specialists Shane FC. Both teams had the chance of promotion. Jetro needed to avoid defeat and Shane needed the 3 points. The game was played on a lovely Sunday morning at YC&AC. With both teams having a big squad, substitutions were frequent. Both teams huffed and puffed but were unable to break the deadlock. The nil nil draw was enough for Jetro to return to Division 2 for the first time in 2...
Last month saw Tomasz Motyka referee his last TML match. He will be staying in Japan but due to new work commitments he cannot find time to referee at the weekends. Tom has kindly written a summery of his time involved in the Tokyo Metropolis League. Thank you Tom.
"It`s been almost four years since I arrived in Japan. Almost the whole of this time I spent with Footy Japan. For the first year I played for BFC Tokyo and held a referee position. From the second...
