New 4G Artificial Grass at Komoba Sub Ground

Komaba Sub Ground for many players has always been in a great location but the old turf was warn down and would cut your legs to shreds. At the beginning of March Komoba opened again after a months closure with brand new 4G Artificial Grass.

On Saturday 12th March the new pitch hosted it's first TML action. Sadly the pitch was so nice that both teams wanted to keep the ball and failed to score a goal.

As it currently stands another 2 matches will be played...

Tachikawa01 break through the wall to secure cup glory

NewYear Soccer 7s: Saturday 9th January @ YC&AC

The most common expression I heard on Saturday morning apart from the standard ‘Happy New Year, How was your Holidays’ was “I can’t wait to start burning of the extra pounds I gained over the festive season.’ With that in mind, it was obvious that everyone was going to run hard, tackle hard and then hit the wall! Judging by some of the Knockout Round results this...

A Referees View on the TML

Robert Peacock: TML Referee September~December 2015

I have spent the last three months absorbing life in Tokyo. I flew to Japan as part of a university exchange with the Tokyo Institute of Technology and have completed my Master of Engineering thesis. Having previously refereed in Scotland, I was lucky to enough to be given the opportunity to join the Tokyo Metropolis League (TML).

This experience has been a steep learning-curve but has provided a unique...

Vagabonds defensive solidity holds while scoring issues continue in draw to Dutch FC.

BFC Vagabonds 0 Dutch FC 0 Komoba Sub Ground, Saturday 24th October 2015

A week off from the pitch didn’t do much to change the fortunes of the Vagabonds at either end of the pitch as they continued to limit the opposition to a few clear shooting chances. However it will be of some concern that they haven’t managed a goal in the last two matches and rarely troubled the opposition goalkeeper throughout the match.

Syu Syu Aoyama vs BFC Vagabond

Defensively organized Vagabonds hold free scoring Syu Syu Aoyama to a 0-0 draw

BFC Vagabonds 0 Syu Syu Aoyama 0 Shigaku, Saturday 10th October 2015

Although unable to make their chances count, BFC Vagabonds were able to hold Syu Syu Aoyama scoreless throughout the match, something that hadn’t been done since last season. Coming into the match Syu Syu were averaging over six goals a game and the Vags were averaging nearly four a game, so the game stood poised to be a high scoring affair, but an early kickoff and a number of injuries seemed to...

Vagabonds vs Lions in Yokohama

Vagabonds unable to hold on for a point after a seesaw battle with Lions FC in Yokohama

BFC Vagabonds 3 Lions FC 4 YC&AC, Saturday 3rd October 2015

Looking to continue their fine run of form after last week’s victory, the Vags found themselves a goal down within the opening minutes of the match. Some nerves and miscommunication between the Vags players allowed for a deflected ball to bounce out to a Lions striker just outside the box. He made no mistake and hit a first time volley with the outside of his foot which curled into the top corner....
